Long-Term Impact: Staying Grounded in Sobriety


The biggest gift of holistic therapies in addiction recovery is that they don’t end when the program does. These practices stay with you. They grow with you. And they evolve as your needs change.


Today, I still meditate every morning. I cook meals that fuel my mind and mood. I use peppermint oil when I need to focus and chamomile tea when I need to wind down. I journal, stretch, and walk almost every day. But more than that, I listen to myself now. I notice when I’m slipping out of balance—when my sleep is off, when I’m disconnected from my body, or when I haven’t created space for stillness.


In the past, those moments would have sent me spiraling. Now, they’re just signals. My recovery feels like a living relationship with myself—one that requires attention, gentleness, and commitment. The holistic therapies I was introduced to gave me a new way to live.
